Placebo

OPEN WIDE here comes the truth
don't try to think (we know what's good for you)
cut me down because i'm free
hate me because i'm what you want to be
run and hide behind your verse
the real you just might hurt
run and hide under your steeple
hey after all rationale is for rational people

so this is how you deal with life
make a wish it'll be alright
find comfort in his likelihood
yeah ignorance never felt so good

no shame for feeling the way i do
thank myself that i'm not you
you create your own hell
guilt has always worked this well

this so-called "sin" is time well spent
deep down you know yet you repent
you know from here you look so hollow
you can't outrun what you'll always follow
keep on praying try to save your soul
you can't escape from self control
you keep on trying to be yourself
but you're too god damned busy being like everyone else

you're transparent i've seen the real you
the one you bottle up and pretend isn't true
over your head is a halo of lies
around your neck is your disguise

no shame for feeling the way i do
thank myself that i'm not you
you create your own hell
guilt has always worked this well

i can see why you turned to this
everyone needs a reason to exist
you know someday that crutch will break
and you will fall flat on your face
finally forced to stand on you own
you'll realize that we're all alone
do us a favor stop spreading your disease
i've got the cure it's one thousand fucking milligrams of... reality

Miss Anthropy

she fears all that isn't her
she must destroy the others

she hates non-conformity
can you really blame her?

bitter girl in a wretched world
her plan's about to be unfurled
it's going to change things for the better
don't you dare defy her

she has the best of intentions
she has her own disposition

she's going to run it all
straight into the ground

trapped inside her shattered life
she can't break out (too full of strife)
she looks so pretty in her high chair
that's all she does there

she has a choice to make
the leaves can still be raked

she can turn this all around
regrow all that has decayed
